Maxell Audio Tapes Were The Preferred Brand For Mixed Tapes

by M Green

Maxell audio tapes were one of the favorite brands that people in the 1980s through today used to make mixed tapes for their loved ones and friends. Mixed tapes contained a sample of songs that were, more often than not, declarations of love. Sometimes, mixed tapes were used to convey angst and provided a soundtrack for a particular group of people to connect with.

Persons who could not express their feelings could use a mixed tape to express them in a better way, usually the younger generation. The song lyrics make it easier to speak right to their romantic interests and they could express their emotions in a more appropriate way. The mixed tape is an art form.

One of the most popular audio tapes were Maxell, thanks to their jackets. These cards allowed mixed tape creators to list the songs on their tapes, and could be unfolded to provide more space. In addition, Maxell even thought to provide spare labels for each cassette tape, in case an error was made while writing the labels.

The audio tapes made by Maxell had thinner cases. This sounds like an awfully subtle innovation, but by making the tape thinner, Maxell allowed people to fit more tapes in a given storage space on in their care. In addition, the thinner tape was easier to fit in pockets and to surreptitiously give to the intended recipient.

The Maxell brand of audio cassettes developed a strong reputation for durability. This was important given the short lifetimes of new brands of audio cassettes. Some tapes lost their sound quality in a matter of just a few months. In addition, most tapes' lives were shortened by exposure to warm temperatures and direct light.

Many mixed tapes on 25-year-old Maxell cassettes still run perfectly well. The problem at this late date is finding a machine that will actually play the cassettes. Still, if even vinyl can make a comeback, there's no reason that audio cassettes couldn't, given the number of people and tapes still outstanding. Other tapes used for mixes were made by TDK and Fuji brands.

Mixed tapes contain an assembly of sample songs for giving loved ones/friends. From 1980 to date Maxell audio tapes are one of the favorite for recording. Teenagers/young adults instead of speaking directly to their crushes prefer to relay their emotions using mixed tape. Maxell brand became popular because of their jackets/cards to write notes/extra jacket. Maxell tapes are thinner which allows more tapes in a given storage and reputed for durability. Some other tapes lose sound quality within months. Maxell cassette tapes with music mixes made in the 1980s are still available. Other brands in the market are tdk cassette tapes and fuji audio tapes.
