My Ebay, My Success Story.

by Edson Buchanan

Electronic commerce has single handedly created a level playing field for business startups and business behemoths. Thanks to technological breakthroughs that created the Internet revolution, startups were able to challenge business behemoths, and make them follow suit. The world is indeed flatter than ever before, thanks to electronic commerce. It is now possible to sell your goods directly to customers from your warehouse. You can sell jewelry, groceries, apparel, movies, and ebooks.

If you are a writer, a good option is to sell your writings on an electronic commerce website. You can readily design an eye-catching book cover by using photo editing software. Through my ebay experience, however, I found that there is more to selling ebooks than just making a pretty book cover.

A primary factor that can make or break your online business is the quality of the product you sell. So put your creativity into action and work on ensuring that your electronic book appeals to the common man. Write on a topic that has not been touched by other authors before. Or write in a way that lends novelty to your book despite being another title on a popular book theme. From my ebay experience, I have learned that once a writer ensures that the content quality is good, learning how to sell on ebay is easy.

The first thing to do is to create a profile on an electronic commerce website. I suggest that you design your business around a popular electronic commerce website instead of an independent personal website. Getting people to visit your website would become a big challenge and you will end up spending thousands of dollars on search engine optimization.

Even if you can get some traffic to your website, many people are not comfortable purchasing online unless your site is certified secure for internet commerce transactions. Electronic commerce portals give buyers that extra sense of security and provide other services as well, charging just a small fraction of the transaction as their fee.

From my ebay experience, I have also learned the value of word-of-mouth publicity. In case, someone makes a purchase, follow up with the buyer after some time and ask for his or her comments on your book. Request them to write a review for your book on his or her website as well as the electronic commerce website. This will attract many readers to your products.

Resale rights ebooks are great items to sell and become a Power Seller on ebay.
